Location: He’eia State Park, 46-465 Kamehameha Hwy, Kane’ohe, HI, 96744
Salary: Starting at $15/hour (Full-time role)
Position Summary: Fast-paced, outdoors, and ocean-oriented position that involves meeting and interacting with a lot of people from all over the world and providing excellent customer service. Involves all aspects of a kayak and snorkel rental eco-tourism operation. Responsible for briefing customers at check-in and having their rental equipment set up properly on the State Park’s waterfront
Reports To: He’eia State Park Waterfront Program Director
Typical Duties
- Providing customer service, briefing, and educating customers
- Handling kayak rentals and rental equipment
- Light grounds work and cleaning of area customers interact with
- Set up, clean up, maintenance, and repair of equipment
- Various other tasks as deemed necessary by the waterfront program director
Physical Effort Required
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, walk up and down moderately steep trails repeatedly. This job is primarily outdoors, and will typically involve strenuous physical activity and hard, dirty work.
Employment Requirements
- Fingerprint background check submitted to Kama’aina Kids
- Obtain and maintain Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certification
- Attend all basic training mandated by Kama’aina Kids
Experience
- Any paddling/boating experience or knowledge of Kane’ohe Bay
Qualifications
- Must have a valid HI driver’s license with a clean traffic abstract
