Position Summary: Primary on-site administrative position. Interact with guests and potential guests to ensure optimal camping and program experience, sales opportunities and manage the reservation and POS systems
Reports Directly To: Camp Manager 
Classification: Non-exempt (hourly)
Location:      Malaekahana Beach Campgrounds

(Part-time for 6 months only) Starting: 2/20/18 - Must be available to work Monday thru Friday, holidays and occasionally weekends.

This position has a variety of duties stemming from a team of administrative positions located on the campgrounds:
  1. Responsible for handling calls and email inquiries regarding available lodging and activities
  2. Provide clear communications with guests obtaining all necessary information for processing arrivals and departures, and to distribute any marketing print collateral
  3. Respond back to emails and inquiries within 24 business hours
  4. Ability to sell services (rentals, activities and retail) effectively to locals, tourists, and group
  5. Manage online bookings for both camping and activities via web based booking systems
  6. Provide a variety of reports on a regular basis and as needed regarding occupancy and operations of campgrounds and camp store
  7. Supports Operations and Activity Managers to effectively manage campground and activities
  8. Will be familiar with immediate area and attractions (including points of interests and entertainment) to provide local information to visitors
  9. Coordinate with other reservationist on existing bookings and sales
  10. Able to manage guests and their bookings including coordinating changes, upgrades, and add-ons
  11. Manage the inventory, presentation and sales of all camp store related merchandise and rentals
  12. Assist the Activities personnel on bookings and any other as needed arrangements needed to coordinate guest participation including return check-ins
  13. Daily reconciliation of sales and deposits ensuring all records match when closing for both reservations and camp store sales
  14. Making deposits to the bank for all camp store and reservation sales on a daily basis
  15. Conduct inventory of camp store merchandise on a regular basis including daily, weekly and monthly
  16. Orders office supplies as needed through the corporate office
  17. Initiate customer surveys for guests that check out via online interface
  18. Additional duties as assigned by management
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
  • Must have at least 2 years customer service experience or similar in working directly with customers with a preference for direct sales
  • Computer experience in basic Microsoft software and reservation and retail systems preferred but not necessary
  • 2 years or more experience in handling a variety of currency transactions including cash and credit cards. Must be able to reconcile and balance deposits and cash drawers
  • Must possess strong verbal, written, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize, manage and control workflow; ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop, coordinate and train peers
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures as supervised by direct manager or supervisor
  • Ability to communicate oral and written instructions and communications and ensure that they are followed-up to completion
  • Ability to keep records, write clear and concise reports
  • Must demonstrate qualities of leadership and/or initiative
  • Ability to take new ideas, suggestions or concepts, develop and implement them
  • Must have and maintain a current State of Hawaii drivers license
  • Must clear finger printing, criminal background check and have a clean drivers abstract
  • Obtain Community First Aid & CPR certification (This requirement can be met by attending one of the classes presented each month by Kama‘aina Kids).
