We're seeking Substitute Preschool Staff for St Marks Preschool



Teacher Certification Not Required! This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with young children and expand your knowledge of early childhood development. We’re Kama’aina Kids, Hawaiʻi’s Enrichment & Education Professionals since 1987. We’re looking for new team members to help us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of our youngest learners! Bring your love of children and past experience* in childcare or early childhood education to our dedicated and caring team. While prior experience working with children is helpful, it is not required. We will provide full training for the right candidate!

*Past experience with children can include volunteer work with scouting, Sunday school, coaching kids sports and even babysitting!

We're currently seeking Substitute Teacher Assistants who share our passion for working with children and making a positive impact in their lives. QUALIFICATIONS:

For Teacher Assistant:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a love for children and a desire to make a difference
  • Be willing to obtain First Aid & CRP/AED Certification (Qualified Training Provided)
  • No prior experience required; all training is provided for you, our enthusiastic new team member!

If you're interested in career growth, we can help you to qualify for a Caregiver role in an Infant/Toddler classroom or a Teacher position in a preschool classroom. With our quality training and support, you can earn your CDA** or take advantage of our college reimbursement program to earn college credits toward a degree! (**Child Development Associate). 

“A day in the life” of a Teacher Assistant can look like this:

  • Greeting the children and families as they arrive/leave for the day.
  • Assisting Teachers with fun activities from our curriculum that focus on the development of young children. (We're SO much more than just a daycare!)
  • Snuggling with little ones while singing & reading stories.
  • Encouraging physical activity while exploring the outdoors with the children.
  • Enjoying a relaxed meal with the children after an adventurous science activity or creative art experience.
  • Helping to ensure that all children are safe, comfortable, secure and well-cared for.
  • Communicating with families about the children’s experiences that day.
  • Setting up the classroom for the next day of activities.
  • Going home with the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference!
